Today, nearly 15,000 children under age 5 will die of mostly preventable causes, such as diarrhea, malaria, and pneumonia. We focus on ensuring child and maternal health by promoting health and nutrition practices and preventing major causes of disease.

About St. Augustine Medical Center

St Augustine Medical Center is a Little Angels Ministry Uganda Clinic with a bed capacity of 42 beds. It is involved in patients care, research and teaching.

It needs donations to enable it offer specialist services in surgery, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology. In addition, there will be specialized services in urology, eye care, orthopedics, endocrinology, endoscopy, laparoscopy, mammography, HIV/AIDS, accidents and emergency. It shall have both general and private patient facilities. Founded way back in 2016, St Augustine Medical Center is a Ministry Mission Medical Center Hospital owned by the Little Angels Ministry Uganda and managed by the Little Angels Ministry Uganda Health Ministry.

The Medical Center has undergone expansion since its inception and its seeking donations and funding its own buildings and expand the pharmacy and OPD departments. St Augustine Medical Center has an average of 19,000 admissions every year and receives an average 300 out-patients everyday with 5500 deliveries annually.

What we do in the Clinic?

St Augustine Medical Center is an arm of Little Angels Ministry Uganda. That was established by Little Angels Ministry Uganda to primarily decongest the Medical clinics of HIV patients. The main beneficiaries are the poor women and children living with HIV, their families and the communities in central districts of; Kabale, Ntungamo, Sheema, Rukiga, RubandaandKasese. With HIV prevalence of 8.5% among adults of population of 4,000 people. St Augustine Medical Center’s overall objective is; to provide with love holistic Home-Based Care quality services to HIV/AIDS infected and affected persons that delight them, their families and communities.

Through its holistic HIV services delivery facility-based and Home-Based services, and support with various community linkages; over 14,600 patients and their families have been served since inception. St Augustine Medical Center has a total of 6,931 (460 adolescents) patients on anti-retroviral drugs. The total number of adolescents includes those not yet eligible for ARVs is 580. St Augustine Medical Center provides these adolescents with free medical care including ARVs, nutrition support during clinic visits, educational support in form fees for primary education and apprenticeship training, entrepreneurship skills training and startup capital for their families.

Little Angels Ministry Uganda created an adolescent clinic that runs on Fridays; it runs a monthly Adolescent voice Newsletter that has contributed experience sharing. Human resource capacity built; 45 youth, 28 couples and 120 adolescents trained as trainers of trainees and staff in programming. St Augustine Medical Center initiated the “expert patients” model 2 years ago with 50 Community Volunteers who compliment health service delivery at NHC. The organization has addressed behavior change beyond AB for the youth and couples; over 2,000 youth and over 834 couples have been trained using the Value of Life and Faithful House curriculum respectively. St Augustine Medical Center Has two clinic sections:

  • The HIV/AIDs Clinic and
  • The TB Clinic

St Augustine Medical Center is a fully fledged satellite clinic Rwentobo Town Council, Kayonza Sub County, Rushenyi Constituency Ntungamo District of western Uganda meant to serve the MARPs and an outreach clinic (conducted every month) in Ntungamo District and other Little Angels ministry Uganda operational centres.
